Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Vipul Goel announced various projects for the promotion of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the state. These included four new quality marking and testing centre for mechanical electrical and plastic products in Faridabad, for mechanical products in Bahadurgarh and Hisar and for plywood, mechanical products and tool and dyes in Jagadhari at a cost of Rs 58 crore.
The minister also announced setting up of 25 mini clusters at Barwala, Faridabad, Sonipat, Panipat, Kaithal, Gurugram, Rohtak, Jhajjar and Ambala at a cost of Rs 110 crore. Goel made these announcements on behalf of Chief Minister, while addressing valedictory session of MSMEs Sammelan at Panchkula.
Goel said that the State Government has identified four clusters in Karnal and Faridabad districts under the Micro and Small Cluster Development Scheme of Government of India and seven clusters in districts of Karnal, Panchkula, Sonipat and Faridabad under State Small Cluster Scheme. He also announced that an Export Exhibition Centre would be set up over 2 acres in Sector 28 / 29, Panipat at a cost of Rs 38 crore.
Apart from this, he also announced that an amount of Rs five crore would be released within a week as compensation for the land acquired by the State Government for the drainage of treated water by CETP Plant set up for dying industries of Panipat. This would help the units set up in Sector-29 to get rid of the problem of water logging. He said that a leather cluster would be set up in Industrial Model Township (IMT) Sohna on 105 acres of land and at a cost of Rs 425 crore.
Apart from this, a footwear cluster would also be set up in Rohtak over 300 acres at a cost of Rs 742 crore. Goel said that the draft of the MSME policy has been prepared and uploaded on the portal of the department.
He said that suggestions have been invited from concerned stakeholders within 10 days and the policy would be implemented within one month. Goel also said that Chief Minister has also accorded approval to the Textile Policy and it would be notified within next 10 to 15 days. He said that the State Government is working with an aim to garner investment worth Rs ten lakh crore which would provide employment opportunities to 18 lakh people in the State, of which 30 per cent would be for women only.
He said that the State Government is working for the promotion of Industries in the State with special focus on MSMEs. The Minister said that at present, 8003 medium and small industries and 265 big industries are running in the State with an investment of Rs 17,000 crore which has provided employment to 1.60 lakh people. He assured the entrepreneurs that the state government would work as a facilitator for them and not as a regulator.
